A second meeting to discuss the creation of a superyacht association for the Asia-Pacific region was held at Boat Asia in Singapore last week.

Hosted by the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club, the meeting attracted 40 people from more than 16 countries – all of whom support the immediate formation of an association for the region. In addition to the 40 attendees, a further 20 registered their interest to become a member.

The group’s objectives include the promotion of the Asia-Pacific region as the leading superyacht destination and the provision of support to governments to create standard open seas policies and regulation.

The group is expected to be incorporated in the next few months, after which time interested parties will be invited to join.
