An Auckland waterfront slipway used extensively for superyacht refits is to get a NZ$1.6m upgrade to help it accommodate craft up to 600t.

The work has been commissioned by Orams Marine Services and Ariadne Marinas Oceania who have contracted Total Marine Service to begin the work in Orams Marine Village at a cost of NZ$1.2m with another NZ$400,000 being spent on a new cradle.

“The work is timely with the development of more superyacht berths at the Wynyard Quarter and the forecast increased volume of bigger boats coming to Auckland,” says Murray Boyte, chief executive of Ariadne.
