The 38m (125ft) Espen Oieno-designed dayboat currently in build at Danish Yachts’ Skagen yard has moved from the composite shed to the fitting-out hangar.
Build 116 is said to be exceeding the design and build teams’ expectations, with ‘better than average’ tank tests when put up against the base data of tested vessels of similar dimensions. Predicted dynamic behaviour in calm water regarding trim change, stability and spray wetness was also reported as ‘superb’.
All that was needed to move the dayboat into the new hangar was one mobile crane, as weight was kept to a minimum to ensure that she minimises her negative impact on the environment and keeps fuel consumption at the lowest possible level when cruising at just under predicted speeds of around 50kt.
Build 116 will now be fitted out with her superstructure and interior by in-house specialist builders and joiners, and the paint team will soon commence work on the exterior.
