Italian superyacht builder Sanlorenzo has joined the Superyacht Builder Association (SYBAss).
“Becoming a member of SYBAss is another important step that gains our growth in the international scenario,” says Massimo Perotti, president of Sanlorenzo, who continues, “In a few years we plied our route to make Sanlorenzo become a synonym of Italian design, great technology and maximum care to details”.
This year Sanlorenzo launched the 46 Steel, a semi-widebody, three-deck bulbous bow superyacht of 499GT, and the largest yacht ever built by Sanlorenzo.
Membership to SYBAss requires a builder to have delivered at least three motor or sail boats over 40 meters in the last 10 years and current members include the Dutch yard Royal Huisman and the American builder Trinity Yachts. Sanlorenzo has three 46 Steel hulls to be delivered in 2011 for their owners and three more hulls are under negotiation for the 2012 season.
The principal activity areas of the SYBAss are to: improve the members’ representation in the biggest events; cooperate with the authorities in order to guarantee regulations take care of the needs and challenges of the yachting world; ensure to align the professional level with the present superyacht requirements.
