Superyacht Interiors New Zealand Ltd (SINZ) said yesterday that it had acquired Robinson Marine Interiors in June. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
SINZ manufactures and installs marine interiors for yachts ranging from 30m-79m (100ft-260ft) in length. It has a 40,000sq ft facility in Auckland.
The company’s interiors are featured on Bristolian by Yachting Developments, Liara by Southern Ocean Marine, Mi Sueno and Anjilis by Trinity Yachts, and other yachts. The company said it is currently working on three confirmed contracts.
“Our contracts average anywhere between NZ$4.5m and NZ$9m, lasting anywhere from 14 to 18 months,” said Mohammed Khan, managing director, in a statement. “At the same time, some 70 per cent of our contracts are based abroad. We have the expertise to produce interiors locally while a yacht is being built, then install them at the builder’s facility, wherever it is located.”
Khan said the company is actively pursuing the motoryacht refit and sailing markets. SINZ also intends to expand into private aircraft interiors.
