A new superyacht repair and refit facility has been opened today by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). Located at the Hythe Marine Park site on the west bank of Southampton water the site is ideal for superyacht access from continental Europe.

Paul Flatt, SEEDA’s senior development manager says “The site is ideally positioned to attract some of Europe’s most prestigious large yachts, being suitable for refit and repair projects typically undertaken by many UK companies, who have for many years excelled overseas in the superyacht refit market.”

The new facility is owner and run by SEEDA and managed by Yacht Project Associates and CB Richard Ellis. A website for the facility has been launched ready for the Monaco Yacht Show at www.solentrefit.com.

With several deep-water berths for yachts up to 90m (295ft) the site can accommodate yachts of 70m (230ft) on its ship lift system. Undercover working areas can be provided for yachts of 45m (148ft) or less.
