Italy’s Telemar Yachting, an integrated marine electronics specialist, has completed the design and installation of the navigation and racing system, communications, VSAT internet data, entertainment package and TV satellite onboard a new 40m (130ft) Wally Ocean Racer, Cannonball.

The package included a complete suite of specialised B&G racing electronics designed by Telemar’s racing specialist Paolo Tagliapietra.

“From an electronics standpoint, a racing yacht is a completely different challenge from a normal superyacht,” says general manager Andy Gifford. “The placement and presentation of the equipment must be optimised to enable the crew to get the highest performance out of the yacht.

“We are very fortunate here at Telemar to have a person with Paolo’s experience head up this project,” he adds.
