UK glazing specialist Trend Marine Products has added a new facility to its manufacturing site in northeast Norfolk. The new infrastructure is a dedicated facility producing high specification insulated glazing units (IGUs).
This addition will allow the company to use its in-house capabilities to horizontally sag bend glass and toughen it through chemical processes rather than thermal processes, along with more high quality grinding and polishing machinery.
As a result, Trend Marine “can now deliver glass formed to the most demanding specifications required for the superyacht market,” claims a statement.
“Our engineering team is currently designing new glazing products and solutions that are being sought by superyacht owners, designers and yards,” says Frank Buckley, Trend Marine’s managing director. “Superyacht glass supply contracts with some of the most prestigious yards are becoming an increasingly important element of our business mix.”
During the past 18 months, Trend Marine Products has invested US$0.9m in state-of-the-art production facilities at their integrated site in the east of England. This is a direct result of winning superyacht glazing contracts and its business development strategy focused in the superyacht industry.
Trend Marine Products has been experiencing 50 per cent year-on-year growth since 2009 in the superyacht sector.
