Organisers of the first edition of YARE, the B2B aftersales and refit exhibition aimed at the superyacht industry, heralded its three-day run in Viareggio a ‘success’.

The show attracted 3,000 visitors and over 100 exhibitors, including yacht builders, brokerage agencies, designers, marinas and registers. Exhibitors canvassed at the show were satisfied with their participation.

“The show was generally positive notwithstanding the fact that it was a first edition,” says Giuseppe Palumbo, Naples general manager at exhibitor Palumbo Shipyard, which has refit and new build facilities in Italy and Malta. “There was not, however, a large presence of yacht owners and captains. This is something that could be improved for the second edition of the event next year.”

“It was mostly a technical show with few potential clients to speak of,” says Muriel Biby, marketing and customer care executive at exhibitor Arredamenti Porto, offering refit services in Genoa, Italy. “But it was positive in the fact that there were many important people from the yachting industry and we were able to exhibit a newly refitted yacht.”

The show ran from March 31-April 2 and was held in six long tents along via Coppino, offering a covered surface area of 4,000sq m at the centre of Viareggio’s superyacht construction area.
