AES Yacht in Turkey is currently building 'Days', a 68m motoryacht which is the first project in the ICE Yachts line of explorer vessels. The project is sold and due for delivery in the first half of 2018.

Days, a 68m motoryacht, is the first project to be sold and she is already under construction

ICE Yachts is the brand name of a new range of explorer vessels to be built in Turkey by AES Yacht. The line comprises yachts ranging from 65m and 75m and results from the cooperation between CCN Yachting and the Turkish shipyard. CCN Yachting is part of the Turkish firm CCN Investment Holding.

Days, the first model of the range, is a 68m motoryacht. The project is sold and already under construction in Turkey. The yacht is due for delivery in the first half of 2018.

The joint venture works together with Italian design studio Hot Lab for the interior and exterior design. Naval architecture is work of Turkish company Endaze Marine Engineering.

Business partners

CCN yachts and AES Yacht have selected trusted international suppliers as partners of this new range.

Alperen Agbas, general coordinator at AES Yacht, explains:  “We visited numerous facilities in Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. During the design phase, together with Endaze Marine Engineering, we have amalgamated our resources together by working with Van Oossanen and Van Cappellen. The purpose of all these meticulous consultations, is to be competitive with the leading mega yacht shipyards of the global market,” Agbas concludes.

CCN Yachting has also revealed that the project management for the client is carried out by Jacques Potgieter and Iain Flockhart.

Potgieter and Flockhart have an extensive operational management experience in the industry. Both have been involved in the preliminary stages of the project in build.

CCN Yachts and the client have appointed Burgess as central agency for brokerage.

Burgess is responsible for marketing and the sale of the project motoryacht Day’s and future projects. The company says that in the pipeline is another, soon to be unveiled, explorer yacht ranging from 70m and 75m.

Under construction

The 68m motoryahct Days is 1,8000gt. She boasts 2.7m average internal heigh over 2.5 decks. The yacht is a five-deck vessel with a beam of 13m.

Her design features a garage to accommodate a 9m custom tender as well as an 8m tender. The yacht has also been designed to accommodate 12 guests, including owners. There is accommodation for a crew of 18.

Commenting on the project in build, Agbas says: “The steel blocks of the yacht have been completed and assembled in our shed which is in Tuzla Shipyard Zone. All but one (the final aft block) of the steel hull blocks are finished, and already assembled. Half of the aluminium superstructure has been completed. We aim to finish all “hot works” by December 2016.”
