At a press conference during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Benetti offered compelling evidence to suggest it may be the most successful superyacht builder exporting to the Americas.
Among its success was the news that it has made eight sales in America out of a total of 18 worldwide during 2015. The first hull of its Mediterraneo 116, with delivery in 2016, will go to an American client and in North America four contracts were concluded for Fast Displacement yachts, confirming the range’s popularity.
The shipyard used FLIBS to exhibit Veloce 140′ of the Fast Displacement range, the market’s best seller, and the Delfino 93’ Ocean Drive, the ‘compact superyacht’. The Veloce 140′ is especially suited to Floridian, Bahamian and Caribbean waters with a shallow draft of 2.3m and a range of up to 1,250 nautical miles.
Benetti Americas, located in Fort Lauderdale (offices pictured), has been operative now for a year now and offers resources in post-sales and marketing. The office has consolidated the brand’s presence in the region since it announced that the US market represents 50% of its business.
In South America, Benetti has observed that the market is ‘increasingly receptive and vibrant’. In Mexico and Brazil, after years of interest in the world of luxury yachts, clients are apparently knowledgable and discerning in evaluating capabilities, dependability and post-sales service. The shipyard says clients in Colombia, Peru and Chile are also beginning to show an interest in the Benetti brand.
The shipyard exhibited at the Panama Boat Show in May (with the Classic 121 Nomadess), had a strong presence at FLIBS, and will exhibit the Vivace 125 and the Chrystal 140 at the 2016 Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show.
