Italy’s Arcadia Yachts has chosen Eletek Technology Ltd to serve as its exclusive dealer in Greater China.

The first Arcadia yacht to be delivered to Eletek is Lady, hull No 7 of the Arcadia 85, which will appear at the upcoming Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show in May. Eletek says it expects to sell around 15 Arcadia yachts in Greater China over the next five years.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Eletek is said to be one of China’s leading marine electronics service providers. The company claims to be the only one that offers comprehensive sales and service for recreational boats as well as workboats, fishing boats and deep-sea commercial vessels.

“We are very excited for this strategic agreement with Eletek,” says Arcadia president Ugo Pellegrino. “We are confident that our yachts will have serious success with potential Chinese yacht owners, for several reasons. First of all, new and current Arcadia models are so different from all the other yachts and comply in full with Chinese yacht buyers’ expectations for excellent sea-keeping.”

Pellegrino also points to the “generous, roomy and shielded spaces” onboard all Arcadia yacht models – the beams are said to be the largest available on the market – as well as the Italian styling that a large number of Chinese owners seem to prefer.

Eletek has established distribution networks with dealers covering almost every part of China’s waterside, harbour workboat and river trade markets.

Arcadia builds fibreglass yachts from 85ft-115ft at a 36,000sq m facility in Naples, Italy. The company is planning to expand its fleet in 2015 with the production of steel displacement yachts stretching from 145ft up to 180ft.
