New range of superyachts comprises three models. The new offering results from the collaboration between the Italian shipyard, Omega Architects, Mulder Design and Team 4 Design.

Benetti has announced the addition of Now Fast, a new range of 50m-plus motoryachts. The new models were announced on Friday at a press event in Miami. The Now Fast offering follows on from the Benetti Now collection, which the Italian shipyard unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2016.

“The Fast project is for all owners who want a superyacht that has the volume and comfort typical of a displacement class yacht, but with more speed,” said Fabio Ermetto, chief commercial officer at Benetti, during the event. “The key feature of the designs is that they guarantee all the comfort found in the displacement category, plus superior performance and speed.”

The Now Fast product line comprises three fast displacement yachts, the 50m BF164, the 56m BF184 and the 68m BF224. Each model will also have an X variant to indicate the versions with a raised pilot-house.

To create the Benetti Now Fast models, the shipyard teamed up with Omega Architects working on the style, Mulder Design handling the naval architecture and Team 4 Design with Enrico Gobbi working on the interior design.

Fast displacement

Benetti has also revealed that Mulder Design created a hull that retains the space and comfort of a displacement yacht, while offering 30% better performance, as well as maintaining stability and reducing noise and vibration, partly as a result of the choice of a steel hull for the bigger models.

“Faster cruising speeds translate into significantly shorter journey times, which is highly appreciated and sought-after by today’s owners,” the shipyard says in a statement.

Another point of strength of the hull in Benetti Now Fast designs is its significantly reduced draught compared with displacement superyachts, while maintaining excellent navigation parameters, Benetti claims.

The optimisation work on the Benetti Now Fast hull is based primarily on research in three key areas: structure, strength and stability. The result of this approach is comfort, high speed, improved safety and reliability, and also reduced consumption.

All Benetti Now Fast yachts, like their sisters in the Benetti Now project, will be built at Benetti’s Livorno shipyard according to a fast track delivery schedule with the help of Benetti’s advanced production and engineering structure.
