The 35.5m motoryacht is part of the new Displacement Class series. Look out for the September issue of Superyacht Business featuring Italy's new build round-up.

Italy’s shipyard Benetti has announced that the new Mediterraneo 116 will make her worldwide debut at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival. The 35.5m motoryacht is part of the new Displacement Class series.

One focus of the project, Benetti says, is the brightness theme. “The careful superstructure’s design provides a sensation of luminosity, amplified by several elements onboard,” the shipyard explains in a statement.

Examples of the luminosity factor are the 2m wide crystal doors that from the main deck gives onto the main salon and the continuous 3m tall picture windows.

On the main deck are found additional examples of the design and layout brought to the Benetti Mediterraneo 116. The 6m wide cockpit allows a panoramic view of the sea right forward with intelligent use of ergonomic spaces, Benetti says.

Farther forward on the main deck are the owner’s apartments. Guests can be accommodated in four cabins located on the lower deck, each one enriched by a large window that gives a sea-level view.

In addition, Benetti says the upper deck completely customizable.

Benetti’s Mediterraneo 116 is equipped with two Man V-12-1400 developing 1,400hp each, giving the yacht  a top speed of 15 knots.

At ten knots, the hull design gives the Mediterraneo 116 a cruising range of 3,000 nautical miles.

Benetti designs, builds and markets two product lines: the Class Range with composite construction from 93ft to 145ft and Custom with steel and aluminium construction over 45m in length.

Benetti operates production facilities in Viareggio (77.707sq m), Livorno (219.440sq m) and Fano (48.837sq m).
