CCN has announced that it has secured a new order for a 40m expedition yacht, the M/Y K40, that will go to an American owner, and launches the Fuoriserie fully-custom yacht line. Construction will commence this month.
The Avenza-based boat builder was entrusted with the construction of the new superyacht by Floating Life Charter & Brokerage, who chose CCN from among 10 different shipbuilders worldwide. The new vessel has been styled by Studio Sculli from Sarzana, while the La Spezia- based Vannini-Oleggini firm has been in charge of naval engineering.
Floating Life CEO Andrea Pezzini, contract manager of the project, comments: “What tipped the scales was not only an excellent quality to price ratio, but above all the yard’s willingness to examine a completely custom project created to be able to undertake a voyage around the world. Similarly, the decision to award the design to the Studio Sculli is a result of twenty years of trust and collaboration, with the complete harmony of Sculli’s design characteristics to the desires of the client.”
The yacht has been designed for long-range cruises from the Med to more extreme environments. The hull is in steel, reinforced for the ‘Light Ice’ class, while the superstructure is in aluminium.
The vertical bulwarks will be finished with extensive glazed surfaces, resulting in a highly contemporary architectural style. The shipyard says the fourth deck, reserved entirely for the owner is similar to that which would be found on a 50m yacht.
CCN’s CEO Diego Michele Deprati comments, “I am delighted with Floating Life Charter & Brokerage’s decision to choose us among many international boat builders. This new challenge will allows us to prove once more our expertise in the construction of megayachts as well as our shipyard’s flexibility and unmatched quality”.
