The new management of US shipyard Christensen has negotiated the purchase of hull 42 of its Custom Series. Design will commence immediately and move into production with a goal delivery date in the last quarter of 2017. This 164ft model is specified to be built to ABS & MCA Certified Unlimited Cruising.
Christensen Shipyards LTD was sold to Christensen Shipyards LLC on July 1st this year. Under the guidance of controlling shareholder Henry G. Luken, Christensen resumed production with a workforce of 105 employees. There are three yachts of the Custom Series currently under construction at the Vancouver-based facility in Washington.
Motoryacht Silver Lining, approaches delivery in the final quarter of 2015. She is hull 36 of the 164ft tri-deck model and features a traditional black walnut interior and stonework throughout.
Designed with larger than normal living spaces in the main salon, dining, and sky lounge areas, this spacious six stateroom yacht will sleep up to 12 guests. Built to ABS Unlimited Cruising and under 300 US regulatory gross tonnage, she will debut in 2016.
Also in production is hull 40 of the 160ft tri-deck motoryacht Chasseur. Delivery is on schedule for the first quarter of 2016. She is built to ABS & MCA Certified Unlimited Cruising and features has six staterooms to accommodate 12 guests.
In addition, Christensen has announced that hull 38 has moved into production and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018. This yacht is a sister-ship to Silver Lining and has also been designed with larger than normal living spaces in the main salon, dining and sky lounge areas, six stateroom to accommodate 12 guests. The yacht is available for purchase.
