Vantage Catamarans has announced that its new Vantage 86 explorer catamaran has reached the final stage of design and is ready for build.

The new 27m vessel is work of Vantage design team, comprising Nigel Irens Design and Christophe Chedal Anglay. A British bespoke furniture and interior design studio has joined the team to create and fit the interiors.

Vantage says she will be the first vessel of its kind to host a toy locker specially commissioned to accommodate two motorcycles.

“The Vantage 86 is unique in its intention and form, designed to break the mould of what a modern cruising catamaran represents,” says Phil Scott, managing director of Vantage Catamarans.

The Vantage 86 has been designed to accommodate two motorbikes onboard (a Ducati Multistrada and a CCM trials bike). The exclusively designed motorcycle space can also double up as a watersports or dive locker, with the alternative option of additional accommodation space depending on the chosen configuration.

The yacht will also be the longest, lightest and fastest sailing yacht ever built that conforms to the MCA code for small craft engaged in commercial operations, the builder claims.

Built in carbon fibre reinforced plastic, the new 28m catamaran provides accommodation for 6-8 guests and a crew of four.
