The opening of this infrastructure allows Heesen Yachts to expand the size of its portfolio up to 80m.

Dutch superyacht builder Heesen Yachts has announced that its new 85m dry dock and the accompanying 90m shed is now officially opened. The new facility entered operation on November 11.

The opening of this infrastructure allows Heesen Yachts to expand the size of its portfolio up to 80m.

Heesen Yachts announced the opening of the new facility during a press conference in June 2015. The Dutch shipyard completed the construction of the new infrastructure in just 15 months.

“This infrastructure development at our facility in Oss is Heesen’s investment in the future and our response to the market’s request for bigger yachts,” the sjhipyard explains in a statement.

Heesen says this investment is part of the initial results of the success of Galactica Star, and now that of Galactica Super Nova, its largest yachts to date, have generated in the superyacht market.

The new 90m shed is equipped with the latest technology resulting in an efficient and ergonomic working environment.

Controlled atmosphere and temperature is possible thanks to central-heated floors, even in the dry dock, along with special air filters and humidifiers.

The new shed is conceived to reduce unwanted impact on the environment. In order to save energy we have installed automatic sun-tracker lights and dimmable LED lights that enable flexible lighting options.
