US motoryacht-builder Outer Reef Yachts (ORY) has announced plans to launch Trident 3000, a new series of fast displacement motoryachts. The new line up comprises a 98ft and a 106ft model. Both units will be built in the US at the company’s partner shipyard located in Anacortes, Washington.
Outer Reef will move forward with tooling for this series in the spring 2016.
Both models in the series, designed by Ward Setzer of Setzer Yacht Archtects, feature modified plumb bow hull design to increase interior volume while providing wave-piercing performance, the company explains.
The new 3000 Trident series will be powered by standar Caterpillar C-18 engines at 1136BHP with an anticipated cruise speed of 13ks and top speed of 15.5ks. A Caterpillar C32-engines at 1800BHP is optional.
Jeff Druek, president and CEO of Outer Reef yachts comments: “This megayachts series will be coveted by long range cruisers who dream of a yacht that provies it all: valuable space, impressionable presentation, efficient performance, fun, and over-all tranquillity on the water.”
