Perini Navi has announced that Dahlak, a 38m aluminium sloop, was successfully launched on Saturday 5th March. The launching ceremony took place in the group’s La Spezia facilities.

“A synthesis of performance and speed, beauty and comfort, Dahlak is our dream come true,” the owners comment. “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work so closely with the Perini Navi team, who accurately interpreted our needs and collaborated with us to define every detail and develop each technical innovation. She is a unique and exciting yacht and we cannot wait to take her for a spin.”

Dahlak features several technical elements to enhance performance, sail handling and onboard comfort, including the latest generation of electric captive winches engineered in-house and a Lithium polymer battery system for silent running.

Her carbon fibre rig comprises a 51.40m mast combined with 14m furling boom and composite standing rigging for a sail area that exceeds 1870sq m.

Following her launching, Dahlak will complete her testing and sea trial phase prior the delivery. She is unit 60 of the Perini Navi fleet and results from the collaboration with French Naval Architect Phillippe Briand.
