The second model in the Oceanemo Sport Utility Yacht range, has also been designed to accommodate water toys, gadgets and vehicles for land, sea and air exploration. The project will be presented at the upcoming Cannes Yacht Festival.

Aldo Manna, creator of the Oceanemo Sport Utility Yacht concept, and French shipyard Ocea have announced that they are ready to start the construction of Ocenamemo 33.

Built entire in aluminium, the range results from the collaboration between Manna, yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni and French shipyard Ocea in charge of the construction.

The 33m project is the second model in the range following the 44m model unveiled in November 2015. The first model of the series is currently under construction and yet to find an owner.

The main objective of the Oceanemo series is to provide maximum access to all possible fun activities onboard. The design of the series features space to accommodate water toys, gadgets and vehicles for land, sea and air exploration. All the above is distributed over four decks.

The Oceanemo 33 has been designed to simultaneously accommodate within a 56sq m “hangar” a 7m tender, a 4.5m tender for the crew, two personal watercraft. In addition, the yacht sports a raised deck that allows accommodating other water toys on board.

Propulsion package

The engine room, moved further towards the bow, houses two engines with a total capacity of nearly 1,000hp. The yacht is set to reach a speed of 13ks in fast displacement. Cruising speed is around 10ks.

Ocea shipyard proposed the possibility of applying a diesel electric propulsion system with azimuth stern drive to the conventional propulsion.

The French yard argues that with much more profitable than conventional systems, diesel electric propulsion ensures reduced fuel consumption by as much as 20% compared to yachts of similar size.

The power management system optimizes the use of one or more generators to ensure the supply of electric energy required at any time, with the further advantage of being able to reduce the use of the generator itself, extending the time between overhauls is another reason for selecting this package.

Similarly to the Oceanemo 44, the new 33m unit will be built at the new Ocea production site in Les Sables d’Olonne.

Manna and the French yard will present this project at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
