Burgess Marine, Britain’s largest independent ship repair and marine engineering services provider, prepares to provide maintenance and refit work to a 50m motoryacht Mangusta 165 .
Built by Italian superyacht builder Overmarine in 2007, the yacht docked at the refit facility in Portchester, Portsmouth, on Friday 20.
The yacht will be out of the water for at least six weeks. Nicholas Warren, Burgess Marine CEO, explains: “The work includes main engine and water jet overhauls plus a small season refit.”
This Mangusta 165 is equipped with three 4500HP MTU diesel engines. She features a 1.6m draft and approximately 3,000 tonnes displacement.
Ray Cutts, Burgess Marine’s technical director, comments: “This refit is very important to the team at Burgess Marine; with both Portchester and Lowestoft capable of supporting such works it’s important that we continue to develop our presence in the yacht sector”.
Burgess Marine is currently involved in numerous large yacht projects including the refit of a 55m motoryacht in Barcelona.
