New refit and repair site in St Maarten will reinforce IMM’s ability to serve yachting clients throughout the Caribbean

Yacht refit and repair company International Marine Management (IMM) has announced the opening of a new base in St Maarten. The new facility joins IMM network of sites including its headquarters in Guadeloupe and Martinique.

Located in IGY’s Isle de Sol Marina, IMM will be able to provide full technical assistance to yachts throughout the island, as well as those on neighbouring islands such as St Barths and St Kitts and Nevis.

Adding to its existing facilities in Guadeloupe and Martinique, where IMM is able to haul out vessels of 130m-plus, the St Maarten location will reinforce the company’s ability to serve yachting clients throughout the Caribbean.

IMM will introduce logistics services in St Maarten, including yachting protection and thermoplastic covering, which will permit its client base of superyachts to undertake more significant technical works during the winter.

Technical services

In a move to provide a full range of technical services, IMM says it employ existing suppliers on the island as well as in-house labour. Services available in St Maarten include, and are not limited to, yacht-standard painting, hydraulics, teak decking, interior works, and everything in between.

“We are very excited about this new phase in IMM’s development, and how it will increase our ability to serve our client base throughout the Caribbean,” says IMM founder and director Fabrice Maitre.

“St Maarten is a natural hub for superyachts between their charters and owner trips, so we can assist yachts very efficiently here – whether it is to plan haul-outs in Guadeloupe and Martinique, or to carry out in-water refit and maintenance in St Maarten or neighbouring islands,” he concludes.

Founded in 2007, IMM has been offering European-standard quality in project management across a range of non-traditional locations.

IMM’s headquarters in Guadeloupe offer berthing for yachts of all sizes and drafts, including a 200m ISPS-compliant dock, and space for a range of yachts docked stern-too along the quay.

In Martinique, IMM has privileged access to a 180m dry dock. The company can serve yachts up to 130m with a combination of facilities and expertise in refit, planned maintenance and surveys.
