Italian boatbuilder Wider has announced that construction of Wider 165 Cecilia is on track to be delivered to her owner next year. Built entirely in aluminium, she is Wider’s largest project to date.
Wider saw the arrival of the 50m motoryacht at the Superyacht Division facility in Ancona at the end of 2015. The sun deck was welded to the main superstructure in a matter of days and now she remains at the shipyard as the build continues.
Final arrangements for interior cabinetry have been made at Wider’s design office while the staff at the shipyard lay piping and cables throughout the interior of the yacht.
Approximately 70km of wiring will be used in the vessel, including the sizeable main cables carrying power from the four variable speed diesel generators in the bow to the electric motors above the pods in the stern.
This Fulvio De Simoni-design is based upon a similar brief to Wider 150, her predecessor. Cecilia, however, has been designed to house a personal submarine in the beach club and features a T-Top with crystal sliding doors to use the sun deck in all weather conditions. She also has altered foredeck that incorporates two circular tables and seating areas.
