Yacht X Tender, a division of Dutch superyacht builder Lynx Yachts, has announced the construction on spec of a new 20m model. The decision to produce this unit on spec was taken given the market’s response to the YXT 24, the first model of the range launched in 2014.
Founded just five years ago by Slim Bouricha, Lynx Yachts produces a fully custom range of displacement motoryachts from 25m to 45m in steel and aluminium. Heliad II, a 34m yacht, was the first project to touch water in 2013.
Listed by Fraser yachts, the new YXT is expected to be ready for delivery in the summer 2016.
Built on spec
The YXT 20m is a steel vessel with 45sq m of deck space for tenders and other toys. Her interiors are designed by Franck Darnet of Franck Darnet Design.
The yacht was conceived as a support vessel for superyachts ranging from 30m to 70m-plus. The YXT is propelled by two 715hp Cummins diesels giving her a range of 900 nautical miles.
The YXT 20 differs from the 24 in having a more traditional bow, not reversed, and is without the stern mounted beach club.
The Yacht x Tender division comprises displacement aluminium shadow boats and support vessels ranging 20m to 36m.
The company has plans to expand its portfolio with another model. Details will be announced in due course.
